Aims & Scope
Trends in Biochemical Sciences (TiBS) keeps its readers up-to-date and well informed about recent advances in biochemistry and molecular biology through succinct articles.
Our goal is to provide articles that do more than simply summarize the literature; they synthesize the data, put forward new ideas, provide insight into the direction of a field, and ultimately have a unique point of view.
In addition to topical Reviews, which provide the main focus of each issue, Opinion articles provide a platform for debate and hypothesis where new ideas can be discussed.
In addition, we publish a wide variety of very short articles that are designed to inform and provoke thought in a lively and widely-accessible manner.
These including interviews (Trendstalks), discussion of issues at the interface of biochemistry and the general public (Science and Society), discussion of issues pertaining to the scientific community or the advancement of science (Scientific Life), highlights of exciting recent developments in the literature (Spotlights) and single-point hypotheses (Forums).
Responses to previously-published TiBS content are welcome and encouraged in the form of Letters.
