Aims & Scope
Journal of Airline and Airport Management is an open access scientific journal. The aim of JAIRM is to publish theoretical and empirical articles aimed to contrast, extend and build scientific knowledge that contributes to advance our understanding of air transport from three perspectives: air transport and globalization, airline management, and airport management.
Air Transport and Globalization is a key area of focus, exploring the impact of air transport on countries and regions' economies, including future scenarios, flows, supply and demand, promotional policy, and new environmental development opportunities. The journal also examines the impact of air transport on tourism, particularly in regions where tourism is a significant contributor to the economy.
Airline Management is another key area of focus, covering business aspects such as low-cost companies, Asian and Middle East growing companies, privatization procedures affecting legacy carriers, and airline marketing strategies. The journal also explores strategic issues concerning positioning and managing the alliance portfolio.
Airport Management is a third key area of focus, covering airport planning, operational analysis of capacity and flow optimization, and any aspect susceptible of improving airport operativeness. The journal welcomes contributions that adopt confirmatory (quantitative) or explanatory (mainly qualitative) methodological approaches, as well as theoretical essays that enhance the building or extension of theoretical approaches.
