Aims & Scope
The African Journal of Governance and Development (AJGD) aims to serve as a premier platform for disseminating cutting-edge research and critical analyses in public administration, public service delivery, public ethics, and policy-making. Our goal is to contribute to developing and implementing effective governance practices that promote sustainable development and ethical governance.
The scope of AJGD includes:
- Public Administration: Investigations into the structures, processes, and practices that define public administration at local, national, and regional levels.
- Public Service Delivery: Research on the efficiency, effectiveness, and equity of public service delivery mechanisms, including case studies and comparative analyses.
- Public Ethics: Examination of ethical challenges in governance, integrity systems, and the role of ethics in public sector management.
- Policy-Making and Implementation: Analysis of policy development processes, implementation strategies, and evaluation of policy outcomes in various contexts.
- Governance: Studies on governance frameworks, institutional dynamics, and the impact of governance on socio-economic development.
- Multidisciplinary Approaches: Contributions that integrate insights from related fields, such as political science, economics, sociology, and law, to enrich the understanding of governance and development.
We encourage submissions that offer empirical research, theoretical insights, and practical applications, and we welcome comparative studies that provide a broader perspective on public governance. AJGD seeks to bridge the gap between academic research and policy-making by fostering interdisciplinary dialogue and collaboration, ultimately enhancing public governance in Africa and beyond.
