Forum für theoretische und methodische Fragestellungen des gesamten Faches Behandelt historische, gegenwärtige, europäische und außereuropäische Themen der Religionswissenschaft Interdisziplinär durch Seitenblicke auf die Geistes-, Kultur- und Sozialwissenschaften Fachzeitschrift der Deutschen Vereinigung für Religionswissenschaft Commissioned by the German Association for the Study of Religions, the Zeitschrift für Religionswissenschaft (Journal of Religious Studies) provides a forum for debates about important topics, questions, theories, and methods in the study of religion.

The articles discuss theoretical problems on the basis of historical or contemporary examples from any region of the world.

Due to their comparative perspective they contribute substantially to the disciplinary discourse in the study of religion and its neighboring disciplines.
