Tabula as a periodical has aimed to fill this gap.

It was established in 1998 by the former chief director of the Museum of Ethnography in Budapest, Zolt?n Fej?s.

The editing philosophy of the journal has been this: it focuses on the scientific results of young Hungarian scholars in the field of sociocultural anthropology and cultural studies.

Its main aim is at promoting the perspectives of sociocultural anthropological way of thinking in Hungarian intellectual life.
