Aims & Scope

Studia Geohistorica is an annual journal directed towards representatives of the humanities and social sciences as well as geographical disciplines who conduct their research according to the spatial and historical approach.

The journal provides a platform for exchanging experiences and findings of research, hosting different and complementary approaches in terms of subject, workshop, and method. It covers various topics, including historical geography, historical cartography, history of cartography, history of geography, and the geographical horizon.

The journal also focuses on human geography, cultural geography, and archaeology problems, as well as the methodology of up-to-date and new research, and the issues relating to applying geographical information systems and spatio-temporal databases (historical GIS). It aims to register and describe Polish scientific achievements in the field and research findings of European and world projects included within the branch called ‘spatial humanities’.
