Articles in related disciplines, as well as those with interdisciplinary and trans-disciplinary scope focusing on cultural phenomena and processes, are also welcomed.
The journal is primarily focused on the area of Central and Southeast Europe, but it has a much wider outlook thus bringing together scientists of various and differing views, standpoints and approaches, those who come from the mentioned regions as well as those whose research focuses on them.
The journal promotes studies based on ethnography, innovative approach to theoretical concepts and creative cultural criticism, grasping at the same time local reflections of the global processes, particularly cultural transformations and continuities in contemporary societies.
Occasionally, a part of the journal is devoted to a particular topic related to certain actual issues or perspectives in various specific subdisciplines of ethnology and cultural anthropology.
The journal also publishes book reviews.
