Aims & Scope

A special emphasis on theory as well as the continuation and development of the Prague School structuralist and functionalist tradition make SLOVO A SLOVESNOST the most significant Czech linguistic journal.

The journal is also among the most important linguistic and semiotic journals in the Central European region.

Oriented toward the presentation of local and Central European research as well as its significance in relation to international trends, it focuses on all areas of structural linguistics as well as issues of language variation, style and language cultivation (language planning), to name a few.

It serves as the primary representative of Czech language studies among academic journals and is also widely read by scholars of Slavic studies abroad.
