ISSN : 2179-4960 eISSN : 1984-249X
Abbreviation : Rev. Archai
Aims & Scope
The Origins of Western Thought is published by Archai: The Origins of Western Thought UNESCO Chair, an interdisciplinary and inter-institutional reasearch group which gathers researchers in philosophy, history, language, law, art, social sciences and archeology from all over the world.
Archai aims to publish original articles, translations, reviews and notes on ancient thought and its legacy in modern and contemporary philosophy and culture.
Archai has published article in Portuguese, Spanish, English, French, Catalan, Italian and German.
Archai has the goal of exploring a different outlook on the history and origins of western thought, a search of new interpretative paths which allow for an understanding of its origins as a process deeply rooted in ancient greco-roman culture, as opposed to the greater lectiones of rationalist philosophical historiography, which thinks of ancient philosophy as something apart, or contrary, to the complex and diverse realm of sophia and ancient culture in general.
