Aims & Scope
What is Prometeica?
Prometeica is an academic journal created to divulge critical articles that explore the limits of the relations between Philosophy and Science.
It was created by Argentine and Brazilian researchers linked to the University of Mar Del Plata and the Federal University of São Paulo, in digital format, open access, and peer-reviewed.
The term humanistic is polysemic, and thus perceived here as the interest in apprehending the world from a humanistic perspective in which the very man who aims the world comprehension is also the object of the same reflection.
For this reason, Prometeica is a journal of Philosophy and the Sciences.
Although the well-known desire of Philosophy to give answers that help to understand the world, philosophical reflection can improve its own goals when it is presented in a dialogue with other sciences so that knowledge can develop in interdisciplinary practice with Physics, Biology, Mathematics, Neuroscience, Engineering, and Computing.
This viewpoint can enhance the world’s comprehension by adding a diachronic approach, considering historical studies in a broad sense, which surpasses the old Geisteswissenschaften, an area that has received different definitions according to the specifications of research plans and programs.
Besides being an academic publication that complies with international standards, Prometeica aims to be an open space for interdisciplinary dialogue, debate, and dissemination of the work of different specialists in the world.
That is why works in multiple languages are accepted: Spanish, Portuguese, and English.
