The Society began publishing its annual journal in 1851 under the joint editorship of David Laing and Daniel Wilson.

Today, PSAS is a peer-reviewed journal dealing with Scotland’s past in its wider context.

Each volume presents research results, interpretations and discoveries that further the understanding of Scotland’s heritage.
