Aims & Scope
Per Musi is a free-access publication from the Graduate Program of the UFMG School of Music, and has established itself as a democratic space for intellectual reflections in the music area, and where diversity and debate are welcomed.
Per Musi, a peer-reviewed Brazilian music journal, is indexed by relevant databases and receives submissions and publishes original research papers continuously throughout the year.
The mission of Per Musi (Scholarly Music Journal) is to publish academic articles, preferably in English but also in Portuguese and Spanish, that make significant contributions to the several sub-areas of music, including their interactions among themselves and with other areas of study.
Per Musi periodically publishes an annual generic flow-continuous number (General Topics).
However, with proposals, invitations or ephemerides, and in exceptional circumstances, thematic issues may be opened with invited editors.
The main subareas of music are covered by the journal: analysis, musicology, performance, composition, music education, music therapy, computer music etc., and their interdisciplinary interfaces, linked to the research areas from the Music Doctoral Program of the Federal University of Minas Gerais, in Brazil.
