Aims & Scope
Oltreoceano is the organ of dissemination of the Center for International Research in Migrant Literatures (Centro Internazionale Letterature Migranti – CILM), based at the University of Udine (Italy).
A multidisciplinary journal – each issue of which proposing a selection of literary, linguistic and cultural studies on overseas migrant communities, mainly focused on Anglophone, Francophone, and Latin American cultural landscapes, delving moreover into the symbolic, linguistic and historical links that unite different realities, without ever neglecting an analysis of compelling connections with other minority languages and their migrant poetics.
The journal encourages research on the Americas (considering the Northern, Central and Southern subcontinents), Australia, but also other territories located overseas, Europe, Africa and Asia, in which entire populations of foreigners have crept in their dream of pursuing happiness and following economic satisfaction, thus giving rise to “migrant” communities who express themselves in Italian, French, English, Portuguese and Spanish, while, at the same time, the journal valorizes surveys on migrants returning to their native countries.
