Aims & Scope

The Northwest Journal of Teacher Education is a peer-reviewed journal affiliated with the Northwest Association of Teacher Educators. It serves as a critical and generative forum for scholars, supervisors, pre-service educators, K-12 practitioners, and administrators.

The journal publishes articles from Canada, the United States, and worldwide, focusing on diverse roles, perspectives, and methodologies in teacher education. We encourage empirical studies, reflection pieces, position papers, and other forms of research that explore the complexities of teacher education, including social justice, power, equity, and liberation.

Our commitment to social justice and equity is reflected in our focus on amplifying previously silenced and emerging voices, as well as supporting first-time authors and those who have faced barriers in the publication process.
