Aims & Scope
The Nordic Journal of Cultural Policy aims to contribute to the development of research on cultural policy, both empirically and theoretically.
Our goals include:
1. To be a key publishing channel for Nordic and international researchers in cultural policy studies.
2. To disseminate relevant cultural policy research and information to audiences in public administrations, cultural institutions, the media, and other organisations.
3. To encourage and stimulate debates on issues of cultural policy through peer-reviewed articles as well as commentary articles and reviews.
The scope of the journal is two-fold:
1. Geographical focus: We focus on the geographical area of the Nordic countries, but also welcome contributions that are relevant for the Nordic region or comparing the Nordic region with other areas.
2. Thematic focus: The articles should focus on cultural policy, including sub-areas or specific art forms such as cultural heritage, creative industries, libraries, etc.
Both explicit and implicit cultural policy is included in this scope, and so is a wide range of policy agents as well as contemporary and historical topics.
