Aims & Scope

Nordisk välfärdsforskning | Nordic Welfare Research was established in 2016.

The journal publishes articles on a broad range of welfare and social policy issues concerning the Nordic welfare states, such as the living conditions and life situation of the population, employment and labor market inclusion, social services, care, public health and disability.

Manuscripts that address comparative dimensions across the Nordic countries are especially welcome.

This also goes for manuscripts that critically reflect upon the welfare state as a phenomenon.

Authors outside the Nordic countries are encouraged to submit manuscripts for review.

The journal publishes peer-reviewed articles in Danish, English, Norwegian and Swedish.

The languages have equal status in the journal’s publishing policy.

The journal releases two regular issues annually, along with special editions and individual articles.

The journal is a multidisciplinary scientific journal.

It publishes research-based articles based on empirical and/or theoretical analyses of a high quality.

The journal's audiences are researchers and academics, students, political and administrative decision makers, welfare state professionals, NGOs and the general public.
