Aims & Scope

Musicians and Politics is a peer-reviewed electronic journal that explores the interaction of music and politics. The journal welcomes submissions that examine the impact of politics on the lives of musicians and musical communities, music as a form of political discourse, and the influences of ideology on musical historiography.

The journal also covers pedagogical issues and strategies pertaining to the study of music and politics in the classroom. Submissions are encouraged from both established scholars and doctoral students, and authors are welcome to take advantage of the media capabilities of the web, including sound files, hyperlinks, color images, and video.
