Moravian Geographical Reports
Published by Akademie Ved Ceske Republiky
ISSN : 1210-8812
Abbreviation : Morav. Geogr. Rep.
Aims & Scope
As a general purpose journal, it receives and evaluates articles contributed by both Human and Physical Geographers, as well as by other researchers who specialize in related disciplines, including the geosciences and geo-ecology, and the human sciences (sociology, urban studies, etc.).
The journal has a distinct regional orientation, broadly for countries in Europe.
The Moravian Geographical Reports aims at presenting original and relevant research on topics responding to the role of ‘regions’ and ‘localities’ in a globalized society, given the geographic and temporal scales at which they are evaluated.
Several inter-related questions are stressed: - the problems of regional economies and societies, especially over time; - societies and societal change in urban or rural contexts; - regional perspectives on the influence of human activities on landscapes and environments; - the relationships between localities and macro-economic structures in rapidly changing socio-political and environmental conditions; - environmental impacts of technical processes on bio-physical landscapes; and - physical-geographic processes in landscape evolution, including the evaluation of hazards such as floods, landslides, etc.
