Aims & Scope

Mineral Economics is an international, multidisciplinary journal focused on economics and policy issues in the minerals, metals and mining industries.

The journal wants to improve the understanding of economic, social, environmental, legal and political implications of natural resources.

The main focus is on non-fuel minerals, metals and the mining industry, and its role in society.

Mineral Economics serves as a platform for academics, industry practitioners, decision makers and other experts that want to publish results of research and studies in order to share their perspectives and knowledge about natural resources.

Discussion and exchange of views between all concerned is encouraged.

Submissions that analyse issues of economics, business and public policy in the areas of mining, minerals and metals are welcome.

Original and thoughtful contributions, set in a solid analytical framework, can help to improve our knowledge of minerals, metals and mining.

All submissions are peer reviewed by experts in the relevant fields.

Topics that are covered in the discipline of mineral economics include, among others; mineral market analysis, exploration and development, resource availability, market development, price formation, international trade, environmental policy, sustainability and circular economy issues, competition issues.
