Aims & Scope
Mediaeval Sophia.
Studies and researches on the Middle Ages is the open access e-journal of the Officina di Studi Mediaevali of Palermo.
It was founded by Alessandro Musco in 2007 and since 2015 (number 17) we publish one issue a year.
The Medieval Sophia’s intellectual property belongs to the Officina di Studi Medievali that has started a project based on the use of new publishing technologies, a tool in step with the times, that is managed in an agile way and has a wide international circulation.
Mediaeval Sophia’s approach is consistent with the more than thirty years of scientific, cultural, educational and editorial commitment of the Officina di Studi Medievali, that is, a noticeable interest in the connections between the different traditions of medieval culture in the Mediterranean areas, in a chronological period between the Early Middle Ages and the 15th century.
In the section Studia, we publish essays that concern medieval topics, equipped by abstracts and keywords, in the language of the essay and in English, and by a short biography of the author.
In the section Focus, we give space to essays that analyse a single theme.
In the end, the section Lecturae offers reviews of the most recent publications.
