Aims & Scope

Lietuvos etnologija / Lithuanian ethnology (LE) is an international, open-access, peer-reviewed scientific journal published annually by the Lithuanian Institute of History.

The journal seeks to share research in Lithuanian anthropology and ethnology, from theoretical, ethical, historical, comparative and contemporary perspectives.

Attention is focused on Lithuania and Central and Eastern Europe.

Issues of the social reality, culture, the history and theory of anthropology and ethnicity in the societies of the Baltic region are of particular importance.

The journal encourages innovative theoretical anthropological and methodological interdisciplinary discussion.

It presents debates on topical questions in anthropology and ethnology based on field research, through original scientific articles and book reviews, as well as ethnographic texts, and expedition, film and project surveys.

The texts are in Lithuanian or English.
