It contains articles and reviews on language in general and also covers topics on specific languages and cultures, living languages and the life of language.

The spectrum of topics includes interlingual phenomena such as diverse facets of translating and interpreting in theory and practice as well as various aspects of translation studies.

Furthermore, the journal focuses on intralingual issues in applied linguistics and e.g. in sociolinguistics such as the change of text type and discourse conventions.
