The Journal of the University of Latvia.
History (“Latvijas UniversitÄtes ŽurnÄls.
VÄ“stureâ€) is an open-access double-blind peer-reviewed scientific journal, which is issued twice a year by the University of Latvia.
The aim of the Journal of the University of Latvia.
History is to promote professional and high-quality research of the past and create a dialogue between researchers, thereby broadening the general understanding of historical processes and events.
The journal gives priority to publishing original research related to Latvian and world history and archaeology, as well as to auxiliary disciplines of history and interdisciplinary research concerning history (from prehistory to the present day).
The journal also publishes select historical sources with scientific commentaries and reviews of the latest scientific literature in the field of history.

History has been published since 2016, twice a year.
Until 2016, the journal was published under the title "History of Latvia.
Modern and Contemporary Period".
