Aims & Scope
“Language: Classic – Modern – Postmodern†is an international academic journal, published by the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy since 2014.
This journal is a platform for the publication of research findings that concern linguistic phenomena and processes caused by extralinguistic factors, in particular social changes in Ukraine, other Eastern European countries, and in the adjacent regions.
The journal aims to integrate the efforts of scholars in various fields of linguistics (sociolinguistics, postcolonial linguistics, lexicology and grammar of natural languages, semantics, pragmatics, discourse studies, corpus linguistics etc.) to reveal the past and present state of languages, causes and effects of language changes.
A unique feature of the journal “Language: Classic – Modern – Postmodern†is its focus on studies that consider the Ukrainian language from a postcolonial perspective. “Language: Classic – Modern – Postmodern†is an open access journal that introduces to linguists and other scholars papers related to language changes in Ukraine, in particular, and in the Eastern Europe, in general, since the region has undergone numerous social transformations over the past few centuries and is the centre of political and military processes of local and global nature.
