Aims & Scope
"Kwartalnik Historii Kultury Materialnej" (“The Quarterly of the History of Material Cultureâ€) is an interdisciplinary journal, integrating historians, art historians, archaeologists and ethnologists who are interested in the history of civilization.
Published papers concern mainly the material culture of Central Europe (from Poland and neighbouring countries) from prehistory of the twentieth century.
These issues are related to: - source studies - history of: -- settlement -- agriculture and rural economy -- crafts and industry -- architecture -- trade, commerce and money -- transport and communication -- consumption -- medicine, hygiene and health -- military history - urban studies - methodology of material culture studies - research methods - protection of historical monuments - organisation of science - museums and exhibitions - demography - anthropology - environment studies The journal publishes articles in Polish and in foreign languages, which vary in subject and form, reviews and reports etc.
