Aims & Scope
The Korean Journal of International Studies (KJIS) is the official academic journal of the Korean Association of International Studies (KAIS).
It is a peer-reviewed journal published three times a year (April, August, and December), focusing on global and regional affairs as well as theoretical debates in the fields of international relations and area studies.
KJIS is indexed and abstracted in SCOPUS, the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI), Social SciSearch, Journal Citation Reports/Social Sciences Edition, and the Korea Citation Index (KCI), ensuring wide visibility and academic impact.
The journal welcomes original research articles that address not only enduring issues in East Asia, including those on the Korean Peninsula, but also the broader implications of global and regional dynamics from diverse theoretical and methodological perspectives.
KJIS covers a broad spectrum of topics, including international security, political economy, regionalism, environmental issues, migration, civil society, and multiculturalism.
The journal does not adhere to any specific theoretical approach or methodology, instead encouraging scholarly diversity across conceptual, normative, and empirical research.
By promoting high-quality scholarship, KJIS serves as a valuable platform for academic exchange and aims to contribute meaningfully to both scholarly discourse and policy discussions.
It also seeks to provide policy makers around the world with in-depth analysis and insightful policy alternatives on contemporary global issues.
