Aims & Scope

Kinship Journal is an international, open-access publication dedicated to the study of kinship in all its facets. We welcome original research in English, with consideration for publications in other languages on a case-by-case basis.

The journal covers the four sub-disciplinary components of kinship: biological, sociocultural, archeological, and linguistic. Our scope includes cross-cultural ethnography, comparative theoretical analyses, and the cumulative building of knowledge in these fields.

As the only journal in the United States and one of a few worldwide focused on the whole of kinship, we aim to provide a scholarly site for research publications that advance our understanding of kinship and its significance in human life.
