Aims & Scope

The Journal of Scottish Philosophy (JSP) publishes innovative work by philosophers and historians of ideas on all aspects and every period of the Scottish philosophical tradition - philosophical psychology, metaphysics, philosophy of science, ethics and moral philosophy, political and social theory, from the late scholastics of the 15th century through the 18th century Enlightenment philosophers to the Scottish Idealists of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

It has a special interest in the writings of Thomas Reid, and in the influence and impact of Scottish philosophy on the foundations of theology and education in North America.
