Aims & Scope

Journal of Modern Turkish History (CTAD) provides a wide scope of cross disciplinary studies on social, political, economic and cultural history of Turkey and its neighboring countries from the beginning of the Ottoman modernization in the 19th century.

The CTAD is a refereed academic journal published biannually by the Ataturk Institute for Modern Turkish History-Hacettepe University.

The journal aims to bring together research on the modern history of Turkey and its neighboring countries in the humanities and social sciences, and to provide scholars with a platform covering, but not restricted to, their particular fields of interest and specialization.
