Aims & Scope

The International Journal of Childhood and Women’s Studies (IJCWS) is a peer-reviewed academic journal published quarterly by the Faculty of Women, Ain Shams University.

The journal publishes original research, theoretically refined, and empirically grounded in the field of women’s studies, and provides a forum for researchers and professionals exploring new perspectives in their work with children and their families.

The journal covers various topics in women's studies, including feminist theory and gender theories, the image of women in literature, women in cultural and religious studies, image of women in media, women and development, media and awareness-raising on women's rights, forms of violence against women, empowerment of women and its impact on legislation, women's health, and women and motherhood, as well as topics in childhood studies, such as child psychology, children's literature, rights of the child, child health and nutrition, curricula and methods of teaching children, children's arts, children's culture and media, and children with special needs.
