Aims & Scope
HydroResearch is a peer-reviewed, open access journal that features original research papers, short communications, review articles and book reviews in the broader field of hydrology, ecohydrology, hydrobiology, hydrogeochemistry, hydrometeorology, water resources and water environment, including water management and policy issues.
Topics covered include: • Hydrological processes including physical, chemical and biological interactions and inter-relationship between groundwater, surface water, snow and ice • Hydrological extremes and their ecological impacts • Impacts of climate changes and land-use changes on hydrological cycles, sediment connectivity and soil erosion • Effects of land-use changes and hydrologic engineering on water resources and water environment • Interface between ecological and hydrological processes in all kinds of ecosystems • Coupling of hydrodynamic property, geomorphology and vegetation • Interactions among hydrological, chemical and biological connectivity and hydrological restoration • Hydrogeochemical behaviors, controlling processes and modelling • Environmental monitoring, source identification and ecological risks of chemical materials in the aquatic and wetland ecosystems • Multi-media and multi-interface processes, biological toxicology and healthy risks of contaminants in freshwater, marine and wetland ecosystems • Water resources, water culture, water management and policy issues • Virtual water and water footprint • Urban hydrology, mountain hydrology and flooding modelling.
Manuscripts offering new insights on all the subfields of hydrological science at the local, regional or global scales, development of new methods/models, and/or instrumentation and field-based research are welcome.
