Aims & Scope
The Hungarian Yearbook was established in 2013 by Marcel Szabó (editor-in-chief, former Hungarian Ombudsman for Future Generations, current Justice at the Constitutional Court of Hungary) with the joint effort of all eight Hungarian law faculties’ departments of international and European law, and an editorial board headed by Justice Péter Kovács (D.Sc., former Justice at the Constitutional Court of Hungary, former Judge of the International Criminal Court in The Hague).
It is the Hungarian Yearbook’s goal to provide a forum for Hungarian academics specialized in international law and EU law to present their research findings to the broader international audience.
At the same time, the Hungarian Yearbook invites foreign authors to assess, from their point of view, certain legal questions that are of particular interest for Hungary, e.g. analysis of CJEU or international courts’ and tribunals’ decisions concerning Hungary.
Finally, editors of the Hungarian Yearbook put emphasis on including papers on Hungarian state practice related to EU law or international law, reporting on the case-law of Hungarian courts (especially the Curia of Hungary) and the Constitutional Court, which may be of interest abroad.
