Human Factors in Healthcare

Aims & Scope

HFH is the Gold Open Access journal of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society for peer-reviewed original research articles for human factors professionals specializing in healthcare, as well as industry professionals who rely on human factors knowledge, healthcare providers and administrators, and healthcare regulators.

The journal has both an application and research focus.

Thus, the content includes original research but extends far beyond that to include best practices, methods, embedded human factors, usability testing, industry perspectives, regulator perspectives, lessons learned, contextual inquiry, calls for efforts on emerging topics, etc.

The journal will cover human factors, usability and ergonomics (safety, health) issues in the healthcare domain.

It will also cover a broad range of healthcare HF domains, to include healthcare delivery environments and personnel, medical device and pharma companies, consumer health products, and patient safety research.
