Published since 1923, Historical Research, flagship publication of the Institute of Historical Research, is a leading generalist history journal, covering the global history of the early middle ages to the twenty-first century.
Editors welcome a variety of approaches and methodologies as well as interdisciplinary articles.
Particular attention is given to work based on new historical evidence or interpretation, as full articles and—where appropriate—in the form of short notes and commentaries on documents.
