The journal of Chinese High Technology Letters (Chinese Edition)(ISSN 1002-0470) was first launched in 1991 to showcase the achievements of the 863 program, the first and most important Chinese national-level high technology program by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China (MOST).

It was sponsored by the 863 Program Office of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, and published by Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China，a government-owned academic institute and a national science & technology information center .
