Aims & Scope
Health Care Management Review (HCMR) disseminates state-of-the-art knowledge about the administration, leadership, and management of health care systems, organizations, and agencies.
HCMR is multidisciplinary in scope, with manuscripts drawing on and expanding research and theory on organizational theory, organizational behavior, human resources management, strategy, and sociology.
Original contributions are invited that: (a) describe completed research about the administration, leadership, or management of health care organizations or systems, (b) report of rigorous evaluations of innovation in the administration, management or leadership of health care organizations or systems, (c) present a synthesis of prior research that results in evidence-based administration, leadership or management practice recommendations, or (d) present a theoretically and empirically based critical analysis or advancement on an emerging or novel issue of administration, leadership, or management of health care organizations or systems,.
All papers must be rooted in organizational or management theory, and yield results that have applicability for improving the administration, leadership or management of health care organizations or systems.
With rare exceptions, HCMR does not publish instrument development.
HCMR does not publish work exclusively focused on health care financing, health policy, or clinical management of diseases or illnesses.
The key variables studied must be such that an administrator, leader or manager could manipulate, alter or control the variables.
Clinical outcomes must be related to the administration, leadership or management of the health care organization or system, rather than to clinical practice per se.
