Aims & Scope

The Hábitat Sustentable Journal (e-ISSN: 0719-0700) is a scientific publication, in electronic format, financed by the University of the Bio-Bio, through the Research and Postgraduate Vice-Rectory (VRIP-UBB, in Spanish), and the Architecture, Construction, and Design Faculty (FARCODI, in Spanish), supported by the Performance Agreement of Innovation in Biomaterials and Energy Efficiency for a Sustainable Habitat (MECESUP CD-INES, in Spanish).

The Journal was created in 2011, thanks to the MEL-Conicyt Integrated Design Project for the Reconstruction of Energy Efficient Homes, which was backed by the Chilean Energy Efficiency Agency (Achee, in Spanish).

The Journal's main goal is disseminating knowledge regarding the sustainability of the built environment, from the architectonic and public space scale to the scale of systems, construction processes, and materials.

In general, it is aimed at researchers, scholars, and professionals working in the areas related to the development of the built environment, whose manuscripts provide a critical vision and, at the same time, an open-minding view in the Ibero-American context.

The Journal proposes revealing the results of scientific research projects made from and for the Ibero-American context, through an electronic twice-yearly publication, published in the second half of June and December, which allows readers to update their knowledge in related topics.

Habitat Sustentable accepts articles in Spanish and English.

The scientific articles must be original and unpublished, and must not be presented simultaneously for publication in other journals or editorial entities.

The sending of manuscripts assumes the knowledge and acceptance of the author(s) of the editorial standards and guidelines for authors.
