Aims & Scope

The Revue philosophique et théologique de Friborg was founded in 1886 under the name Jahrbuch für Philosophie und Spekulative Theologie .

In 1914 it became Divus Thomas , then changed to its present name in 1954.

From its inception, the journal has endeavored to embrace the entire field of research in philosophy and theology, in its scientific articles and through book reviews.

In the field of theology, systematic questions receive special attention.

In the philosophical field, the history of philosophy (medieval and modern in particular) constitutes a strong point.

Ethical interests are central in both fields.

The Revue Philosophie et Théologique de Friborg is essentially interested in the thought of the European tradition, without neglecting to confront it with the challenges of current research in the fields of philosophy and theology.
