Aims & Scope
The journal Folia Historica Bohemica primarily presents scientific studies as well as discussion contributions and reviews of the latest foreign and domestic literature or other texts, such as those published in the sections entitled ‘Rozhledy’ [Insights] and ‘Historikové raného novověku’ [Historians of the Early Modern Period].
Texts in the section entitled ‘Studie’ [Studies] are published only following a successful review process (the review form can be downloaded here).
The journal was founded on 12 February 1979.
From 1979 to 1990 (issues 1–13), the periodical focused on Czech history from the 9th century to the middle of the 19th century; since 1990 (beginning with vol. 14), it has specialized in Czech and general history of the early modern period (16th–18th century).
From issue 21 (2005) onwards, Folia Historica Bohemica has been a peer-reviewed journal.
In 2008, it was added to the Research, Development, and Innovation Council’s List of Peer-Reviewed and Nonimpact Periodicals Published in the Czech Republic.
