Aims & Scope

Encounters Journal of Human Sciences, Social Theory and Critical Thinking is a magazine founded by the Center for Geo-Historical and Socio-Cultural Studies and the Laboratory of Latin American Studies on Critical Thinking and Political Transformations of the Rafael María Baralt National Experimental University.

Its publication is semiannual.

The aim of the magazine is to spread the research and reflections that are made from the humanities and social sciences on critical, counter-hegemonic and sub-alternate thinking.

The magazine is considered as a very wide academic space where contemporary social problems are approached from different areas of study such as Philosophy, History, Education, Political Science, Anthropology and Sociology.

Academic articles are published that address the aforementioned topics, but also essays, research advances, book reviews and interviews of interest to academics with relevant contributions in the areas of the journal.

All collaborations are evaluated by a Referee Committee.

The magazine is aimed at the academic and scientific community of human and social sciences and those interested in deepening the themes, debates and experiences that star our regions, subjects and their socio-cultural transformations.
