Aims & Scope

Bibliotheca Dantesca is an international peer-reviewed open-access journal dedicated to Dante studies. Our aim is to provide cutting-edge scholarship on Dante Alighieri and his reception with a widely interdisciplinary perspective.

We invite essays related to Dante and his reception through the centuries, from the late Middle Ages to modern times, and from a variety of perspectives, including Mediterranean studies, gender studies, history of emotion, African-American studies, material history, influence on nationalism, “Italianity”, digital humanities, and environmental studies.

As a proudly open-access journal, all publications are released under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). We welcome submissions for Vols. 7-8 (2025) and encourage you to explore our journal archives and submission guidelines.
