Behavioral Ecology and Sociobiology
Published by Springer Nature
ISSN : 0340-5443 eISSN : 1432-0762
Abbreviation : Behav. Ecol. Sociobiol.
Aims & Scope
The journal publishes reviews, original contributions, commentaries, and methods papers dealing with quantitative empirical and theoretical studies in the field of the analyis of animal behavior on the level of the individual, population and community.
Special emphasis is placed on the proximate mechanisms, ultimate functions and evolution of ecological adaptations of behavior.
Aspects of particular interest: - Intraspecific behavioral interactions, with special emphasis on social behavior Interspecific behavioral mechanisms, e.g., of competition and resource partitioning, mutualism, predator-prey interactions, parasitism - Behavioral ecophysiology - Orientation in space and time - Relevant evolutionary and functional theory
