Aims & Scope
ARS is an art historical, scientific peer-reviewed journal published by the Institute of Art History of the Slovak Academy of Sciences (since 2018 part of the Art Research Centre of SAS) in Bratislava since 1967.
It is devoted to the history of visual arts and architecture in Central Europe and their European context from the early Middle Ages to the present.
Papers on art in Slovakia and Slovak art are particularly welcome.
ARS also provides a forum for articles that focus on the theory, methodology and the history of art history.
Contributions to world art are also invited.
ARS is an open-access journal with freely available content without charge to the user or institution.
Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles or use them for any research or non-commercial purpose without asking the publisher’s or the author’s prior permission.
