Aims & Scope
Archivos de historia del movimiento obrero y la izquierda is a scientific journal of social, political, cultural, and intellectual history, which aims to promote research, and to review and update our knowledge and understanding of the working class, the labor movement and the Left, both nationally and internationally.
It is edited by the Centro de Estudios Históricos de los Trabajadores y las Izquierdas (CEHTI) with partial funding of projects of the University of Buenos Aires.
Although focused on historical and historiographical assessments, the scope of Archivos is also broad and interdisciplinary.
It seeks to explore the trajectory of the working class, the labor movement and the left, drawing upon different contributions from different fields of academic expertise, which include history, sociology, political science, anthropology, philosophy, gender studies and literary critique.
The audience of the journal are researchers, teachers, professionals, graduates and students of history, as well as other social disciplines.
It is published every six months (March-August and September-February) and all issues include three sections: Special Theme with papers about a specific topic, Articles, and Book Reviews.
Occasionally a special section includes essays, interviews, profiles, and interventions.
All manuscripts in the dossier and in the articles section are peer-reviewed by external referees with the double-blind system.
In 2020, the article rejection rate was 40%.
Book reviews and proposals for the special section are evaluated by the Editorial Committee.
Contributions must be original and not simultaneously submitted for evaluation in any other publication.
Signed articles do not necessarily express the opinion of the Editorial Committee.
