Aims & Scope
Archaeologia historica is a prestigious peer-reviewed professional journal publishing original studies focused on medieval archaeology and related branches.
In the sections Zprávy (Reports) and Kronika (Chronicle) it informs in brief about new publications, conferences, exhibitions and significant personalities.
The journal, originally periodical proceedings of national and international conferences on medieval archaeology, was established in 1976 under the auspices of the Museum and Local History Society in Brno.
It was in 2007 (after the death of Prof.
PhDr.
VladimÃr Nekuda, DrSc., founder of the whole editorial series) that Prof.
PhDr.
ZdenÄ›k MěřÃnský, CSc., vice-chairman of the Museum and Local History Society, was appointed editor-in-chief by the Board of the Museum and Local History Society in Brno, and editorial works were taken over by the Department of Archaeology and Museology, Faculty of Arts of the Masaryk University in Brno.
