Aims & Scope
Journal of Plant Taxonomy and Geography (Webbia) is a biannual journal of Systematic Botany which was founded in 1905 with a clear international perspective and vocation since its first issues.
It is a peer-reviewed journal focused on contributions from Plant Taxonomy, Nomenclature, Molecular Phylogeny, as well as Cytotassonomy, Phytogeography and Palynology.
Particular attention is devoted to manuscripts related to the Conservation of Plant Biodiversity.
Most of the contributions focus on Vascular Plants, although studies on the Bryophytes, Lichens, Mushrooms and Algae Systematics are encouraged.
The History of Botanical Collections is also of particular interest.
The journal hosts Reviews and Points of Views on the scientific and methodological debate of Plant Taxonomy in special sections, and publishes Proceedings of Congresses, Symposia or Proceedings of national and international events.
For wide-ranging monographs, the journal includes dedicated booklets/supplements.
The aim of the magazine is to be a place of debate and opportunities especially among the younger generations of Plant Taxonomists from all backgrounds and education, expanding the academic conversation in a global and intercultural vision.
