Aims & Scope
Science & Justice is the official journal of The Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences.
It provides a medium whereby all aspects of applying science to legal proceedings can be internationally evidenced, debated and progressed through high quality, peer reviewed publications.
It promotes learned and original research findings across all subjects of interest to forensic and crime science communities, and the criminal justice sector.
The journal publishes material in the following types of submission: Original Research Papers Short Communications (for example, Preliminary Studies and Proof-of-Concept articles where datasets are limited) Review Articles Technical Notes Case Studies Professional Practice Reports Rapid Communications Commentaries (including Professional Commentaries) Correspondence Science & Justice is published six times a year and will be of primary interest to forensic scientists, forensic practitioners and crime scene investigators, legal professionals and their colleagues in related fields.
It is chiefly concerned with the publication of formal scientific papers, in keeping with its international learned status, but will not accept any article that does not comply with strict ethical and legal standards.
Evidence of consent and compliance, along with reference to protocol approval from an institutional ethical review committee should accompany your submission, particularly for case studies and research involving human or animal experimentation, or any study involving human data, non-exclusively including patient data.
