Aims & Scope

The journal Neilreichia (“Journal of Plant Systematics and Floristics of Austria”) was established in 2001, succeeding Florae Austriacae Novitates (1994–2000).

It is named in honour of the famous Austrian botanist August Neilreich (1803–1871), who wrote seminal works for the floristic research of Austria such as “Flora of Vienna” (1846) and “Flora von Nieder-Oesterreich” (1857–1858).

The journal Neilreichia is published by the Austrian Association for Floristic Research and includes peer-reviewed scientific articles in German and English mainly dealing with taxonomy, chorology and floristics of vascular plants, bryophytes and charophytes of Austria and adjacent regions.

Papers on related topics, e. g., vegetation ecology, ecomorphology, conservation biology, karyology, phylogenetics, population genetics, population biology, ethnobotany and history of Austrian botany are published occasionally.
