Materials Futures is an international peer-reviewed gold open access journal focused on publishing original works, perspectives and reviews articles in all areas of basic and applied materials science and technology.

It is an affiliated journal of Songshan Lake Materials Laboratory.

It has established cooperation with International Union of Materials Research Societies (IUMRS) since December 2021.
