Aims & Scope
LANKESTERIANA, the Scientific Journal of JardÃn Botánico Lankester - Universidad de Costa Rica, aims to be a scientific journal of great prestige and recognition worldwide, for its specialization and contribution to the knowledge of the orchid family.
LANKESTERIANA is dedicated to the publication of original contributions related to orchidology, including systematics, phylogeny, evolution, ecology, reproductive biology, anatomy, physiology, conservation, and history of orchids, as well as reviews of books and lectures on these topics.
In addition, short communications, comments and range extensions that are titled as such are accepted.
The journal is aimed at scientists, researchers, students, and enthusiasts from all over the world, with an interest in botany and especially orchids.
It is also distributed to more than 350 institutions around the world.
The official language of the journal is English and the manuscripts presented in Spanish are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
